Full UK driving license with no serious driving violations in the last 3 years.
Vehicle must be registered and roadworthy. Modern vehicles are preferred (usually 2015 or newer).
Private Hire Vehicle (PVH) license or assistance obtaining one. We can help guide you through the process.
Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance required. We can advise on the application process.
Valid Private Hire Insurance and MOT certificate for your vehicle.
Female drivers are prioritized. Vetted male drivers may be approved under the same licensing, DBS, and safeguarding standards.
Our platform vehicle standards are similar to leading ride-hailing operators in the UK and are strictly enforced.
Only 4-door vehicles, minivans/MPVs, or larger vehicles are accepted. This is mandatory for all HERWAY driver partners.
2-door cars, coupes, convertibles, and small commercial vans are not eligible for HERWAY bookings.
Vehicle must be roadworthy with valid MOT, correct PHV licensing (where required), and active private hire insurance.
Vehicles must be clean, smoke-free, and maintained to professional passenger standards inside and out.
Vehicle must have sufficient space for child seats and safe passenger boarding when child travel is disclosed.
Modern vehicles are preferred (typically 2015 or newer), subject to local authority private hire standards.
Important: If your vehicle is not a 4-door, minivan/MPV, or larger vehicle, your application cannot be approved.

Ensure you have a PVH (Private Hire Vehicle) license. Contact your local council for details. We can provide guidance on the requirements specific to your area.
Complete a video interview to discuss your experience, vehicle, and understanding of our safety policies.
We'll verify all your documents. This includes checking your DBS clearance, insurance, and vehicle roadworthiness.
Complete our online safety training module covering customer service, safety protocols, and our policies.
Once approved, you'll be onboarded to our system and can start accepting bookings!
All HERWAY drivers must adhere to strict safety and conduct standards. Drivers have the right to cancel or refuse any trip if:
A male passenger boards who was not mentioned during booking. Drivers can cancel to maintain our women-focused service commitment.
Passenger appears intoxicated, aggressive, or unable to communicate clearly.
Any harassment, disrespectful behavior, or discomfort for the driver or other passengers.
The route or destination raises legitimate safety concerns for the driver.
More passengers or children than declared at booking, especially without car seats for children.
Passenger appears to pose a risk of damage to the vehicle.
Important: Drivers are never obligated to complete a journey if they have safety concerns. Passenger safety is important, but driver safety is paramount and non-negotiable.
